Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a caring, motivated professional to work directly with pregnant women and families with infants and toddlers through our Early Head Start Home-Based Program.

As an Early Head Start Home Visitor, you'll build meaningful relationships with families, provide individualized child development and parent education, connect families with resources, and help parents support their child's learning and development right in their own home.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30am-4:30pm (40 hours/week)

• Conduct weekly home visits with assigned Early Head Start families
• Partner with parents to plan engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for infants and toddlers
• Coach and support parents in their role in their child's learning and development
• Assess children's progress and develop individualized learning objectives
• Plan and facilitate group socialization activities for children and families
• Provide family education on parenting, health and safety, nutrition, mental health, disabilities, budgeting, and other identified needs
• Develop Family Partnership Agreements and help families work toward their goals
• Connect families with community resources and follow up on referrals
• Support families in obtaining appropriate health screenings, well-child care, dental care, immunizations, and other services
• Recruit eligible families for UCCA programs
• Maintain accurate family records and enter required information into ChildPlus and Teaching Strategies GOLD
• Collaborate with families, program staff, consultants, and community partners to coordinate services

• Want a career that combines early childhood education and family support

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from a four-year college or university
• One to three years of related experience and/or training
• Minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential
• Valid driver's license
• Must possess and maintain, or obtain and maintain within 90 days of employment, a CDL
• Ability to maintain accurate records and use required computer systems
• Ability to travel within the assigned service area to conduct home visits and program activities

Physical Requirements
This position requires regular sitting and communication; frequent standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands; and the ability to occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds. The position also involves regular travel and exposure to outdoor weather conditions while providing home-based services.
